It may have been a cold spring with temperatures dropping as low as minus 10 at night but that has not deterred the Rothiemurchus team into making alterations to the osprey pond including two new hides. After trialling the new location for our photography last year we decided to make further amendments to improve not only the fishing for the ospreys but also for the photographers who sit poised ready to snap the fish hunter in action.

Ospreys have been visiting and fishing at our fishery for the last few decades and are now providing a wonderful spectacle for osprey photographers and watchers alike to come and hopefully experience the breath-taking moment when the osprey, preying on a fish from height, dives and hits the water.

For the wildlife enthusiast you can hire our hide during the day for osprey watching or visit us in evenings during July and August to hopefully experience watching the osprey show us all who the real angler is!
